Double Trouble!

So I've been back from vacation for a while but life has been so hectic and crazy for me that i haven't had much time to be crafty! :( Alot of changes happening in my life, most for the good though!

My friend is having twins too, which is super exciting for them! A boy and a girl. Her shower is Saturday and I'm super excited. I haven't seen her in a long time so it'll be great to see her and some old friends as well. I love shopping for babies! I had so much fun picking out their gifts. I got a pink and blue beach buckets and filled them up with pink and blue items. I got any thing from the swaddles she registered for to toys she didn't! :) I got a bunch of misc things off her registry that i know most people don't go around and pick out. Most people just grab an item in their price range.

I think i had a different vision for the card but i still think it came out adorable. Love the Create a Critter Cartridge. :)

Mother's Day Gift

My lovely Husband late last night decides to ask me to make a gift certificate for his mom for a restaurant in Maine we love. His parents own a cottage up there on a lake and there is this cute little restaurant called the "Corner Store"... Our favorite place to eat while we are at the cottage. So this morning, i had to get up early to multi task... As I'm typing this my nail polish on my toes are drying... I am going out all afternoon with my Mom, Cousin, and Aunts for a Mother's Day lunch and bowling... Then i have to rush home and get ready to leave for a wedding all night... Then tomorrow is Mother's Day which is filled with Church, Seeing both our Mom's, and Our Nephew's Bday party... What a busy weekend but it's filled with Family so i can't complain.

Here is the Card and Gift Certificate I made for my Mother In Law... Hope you like it!

For the Gift Certificate I got to use my new Cri-Kit Pens in the Cricut the second time (First time was just playing when i first got them). They worked wonderful. Very impressed!

Glass Block Wedding Gift

I will be going to a wedding tomorrow for my husband's cousin Jaymie and her fiance Tim. I wanted to make them something special and have always wanted to try a glass block... I had so much fun making this and now I want to make one for my self! :)

I found a swirl heart design by doing a google search. I came across Wanda's Blog. She was nice enough to include a free download. I cut it out with vinyl using Sure Cuts Alot and my cricut. I used contact paper and transfered the vinyl to the glass block. I scratched at the vinyl to make sure it was fully stuck to the glass because i didn't want the Armour Etch to sneak underneath.

Once the vinyl was down all the way, i took armour etch and a brush and put a thick layer all over the front. The bottle says let it sit for 5 mins but i always let it sit longer. I believe it was almost an hour until i washed it off. On glasses i tried to etch when i first got Armour Etch I found that after 5 mins it's not that etched. If you let it sit longer, it gets a darker etch.

I washed off the Armour Etch and was ecstatic at how it came out. I got on Sure Cuts Alot and put their last name big and "Est 2010" on the bottom... i felt it needed a bit more so i added their first names on top, I think it added just the right touch. I then cut it out on Black Vinyl and transfered it with the contact paper onto the etched side of the glass... Some ribbon and lights and it looked great!

I couldn't be happier with my first glass block project! Hope you like it and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

National Scrapbook day Challenge #9

This for Challenge #9 on My Pink Stamper A Shaped Card

I made this to go with my recipe box i made for Challenge #1 on My Pink Stamper. I cut the triangle card using the "Wild Card" Cartridge. I then added the same flowers from the box using "Sweet Hearts" Cartridge.

I inked the edges, cut out "Mom" using Applebutter font and Sure Cuts Alot. Added some dots and I was done! It was so easy and quick to make. Took me longer to glue the small flower together, then it did to make the whole card! :) Small parts are hard to work with!
